Lana del Rey has been mothering in the Dovelands (my country)! Her latest release, "Did you know that there's a tunnel under Ocean Blvd", debuted at #1 with over 805,000 pure sales giving Lana her 7th number one (#1) album! She increases her record as the most albums at #1, the next nearest artist is James Blake with five. This is also her largest week of album sales and #8 overall in the history of the charts. Lana also has the #1 song in the country, "A&W", making it her 7th singles chart-topper. This week Mother earned her second all-kill week (the last time was the debut week of "Lust for Life" LP). "Did you know..." has been the best-performing album for LDR since 2019's "NFR!. Ocean Blvd has been supported by three perfect singles, a 9.1 critic review, and her surprise engagement (congrats to her)!
"Mélusine" by jazz savant C.M.S. debuted at # 6 with an impressive 295,000 in sales, the only other debut to make it in the top 10. Kelela and Yves Tumor continue to dominate sales, picking up 4x platinum and 1x platinum plaques- respectively. Disappointedly, Caroline Rose's third full-length album failed to crack the top 15- probably due to a lack of promotion. The songs "Miami" and "The Kiss", however, are picking up steam and may help boost the album in coming weeks. It won't be easy for Caroline though, Melanie Martinez, Ellie Goulding, and Jessie Ware are all set for releases soon.
