This weeks Artist Chart keeps Janet Jackson and Monica at #1 and #2 with Brandy reaching a new peak of #3 which is up 2 from #5 last week with Whitney Houston and Mariah Carey falling 1 spot to #4 and #5. The Glee Cast has re-peaked at #6 for a 2nd week.
On the Albums charts, like the Artist chart #1 and #2 are the same with The Boy Is Mine spending its record tying 8th week at #1 with only 1 more week at #1 to break Ariana Grande's "Positions" record for most weeks at #1. "Rhythm Nation 1814" stays at #2 this week with "Never Say Never" reaching a new peak of #3 which marks the first time the Artist and Albums Chart have the same artist in the top 3. Janet Jackson has the most top 5 albums this week with 3/5 of the albums being hers, "Control" stays at its peak o #4 for a 2nd week and "janet." falls 3 places to #5. Janet also ties Whitney Houston for the artist with the most albums in the top 10 at once with 5/10 of the top 10 albums belonging to her.
On the singles chart "Love Will Never Do (Without You" crowns the Hot 50 chart for the first time, becoming the song with the lowest debut to reach #1 after it debuted at #49 and rose to #5 the following week breaking the record for biggest jump in chart history and now it becomes one of the fastest songs to reach #1 only taking 3 weeks. "Angel in Disguise" was a close contender for #1 only being 1 play away from being #1 but on this weeks chart it is #2. "Come Back To Me" rises to #3 and "Angel of Mine" falls 2 places to #4 while last weeks #1 "The Boy Is Mine (With Brandy" falls 4 places to #5. "Nasty" becomes on of the biggest jumps in chart history after jumping 37 places to its new peak of #6.
