Inflated Eras

Could there be a way to filter out/decide what songs may contribute to an album via their respective albums page? Compilation albums in particular seems to benefit way more from the "Eras" format as they get all the points from multiple best selling songs from studio albums which drastically inflates their eras. It then becomes a misrepresentation of what is truly an artist's biggest era, especially knowing that (for me at least) compilation/remix albums are generally some of my least played albums in an artists' discography.

Example: Ariana Grande's live album "K bye for now" is counted as my biggest era of all time because it benefits from Yours Truly, My Everything, Dangerous Woman Sweetener and thank u, next number, even though all of her studio albums have more than triple the amount of plays. Other artists such as Mariah Carey and Beyonce who have multiple compilation/live/remix albums are also affected by this too.

Yeah even billboard has issues with this, like The Weeknds Highlights constantly charting and then falling off. I think for compilations maybe there could be a way to label them as such which would then filter off songs that appear on other releases? Like for Madonna's celebration, only Revolver/It's so Cool/Celebration counting towards the era and it's actual plays, instead of all the songs from every era inflating it.

Yes omg this is why I think compilation albums dont make much sense for artists anymore, especially in the age of streaming. They do much more harm than good for parent albums. Ariana's My Everything cant even benefit properly from Love Me Harder because of Weeknd's Highlights which sucks considering it's technically her song.

I really like your idea though in terms of filtering albums of certain categories. The only problem would be how to account for songs that can only be found in those compilation albums which I assume could be tricky for our developers to code. Maybe allow users to use an "exclude songs from album" feature idk.

Just for the eras section I think it could be coded to just select certain songs and not include them towards the era. Like, I still stream Celebration songs and those should count towards certs, like if I actually stream from that album. But to include all of the songs plays to Celebration would only make sense for album exclusive songs. I think the same issue is happening with The Fame and The Fame Monster where there are songs on both inflating the eras, specifically TFM.
