Suggestion: add option to select the debut week for an album
For Apple Music users, the streams for a pre-released single can already be tied to the official album title, even if the album hasn't been released yet. Even if the album isn't yet available for pre-save, we can customize the tags on Apple Music and link the singles to the upcoming album title.
For example, for Olivia Rodrigo's upcoming album, my scrobbles for "Drop Dead" are already linked to the new album. This means the album debuts on the charts on the same date as the first single comes out.
The suggestion would be to have an option to choose in which of the album's charting weeks it actually got a full release, and count that chosen week for the "Artists with Most Debuts at #1" and "Best Debuts" charts, so we can have more accurate information for the actual debut sales of the full album.
The pre-release units should still be counted towards the album's total, as it is in real life, but the debut week should be selectable for the statistic charts.
i agree, with lastfm pro i can somehow avoid it with feature albums by editing the tags and editing them back when the album drops, but all the older albums with pre-released singles still have many sales from way before the album even dropped
I really hope we can get a feature like this in the future because Olivia about to have a massive debut week and it wont even be recorded properly on ZERO because of Drop Dead and The Cure 😭😭😭
